AWE Approvals for Complex Routings & Custom Transactions

PeopleSoft Approval Workflow Engine (AWE) is a recent entrant into the PeopleTools family. AWE provides capabilities for creating, running, and managing approval processes within PeopleSoft. Once triggered, the AWE determines the appropriate approval process definition and then launches the required routing based on the pre-configured steps.

The AWE technology has proven to be a significant key value driver for upgrades and implementations of current PeopleSoft releases. Understanding the AWE framework results in significant opportunities to reduce customizations, automate manual workflow and approvals, and enhance system adoption and the user experience overall.
